WELLINGTON UNEMPLOYED.
RELIEF LOAN PROPOSAL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Sept. 5. Means for assisting the unemployed were discussed at a meeting of local members of Parliament. The body decided to approach tne Acting-Prime Minister with arequest that the Government should sanction the council raising up to £15,000 by a short-dated loan for relief works. It was also resolved to ask citizens for voluntary contributions to relief funds. It was suggested that the period of the loan be one year, and, if authority is granted, that the money ba raised locally. (
