BURNSJDE STOCK SALE. LARGE YABDINGS WEAKEN VALUES. Dunedin, August 31. There appears to be no scarcity of fat stock, as each department was well represented at Burnside to-day. The yarding of fat cattle was an exceptionally good one. The large supply of this class of stock caused values to be weaker. Sheep also were weaker in price, but pigs maintained late ruling rates.
Fat Cattle.— A large yarding, numbering 288 head, with no scarcity of good quality animals. On account of the large number sent forward, the sales opened slack, and values were fully 20s to 35s per head below those which ruled at last week’s sale. Prime beef was worth round about 44s per 1001 b, medium quality 33s to 365. Prime bullocks realised £lB 10s to £2l 10s, medium £l4 10s to £l7 10s, light and unfinished sorts from £9 10s upwards.
