WORTH TARANAKI HUNT,

TO-MORROW’S RACES. The North Taranaki Hunt race meeting at New Plymouth to-morrow promises to be u record for the club. The acceptances are above the average, both In number and quality. Such horses as Rational, Danger Zone, etc., arc already on the scene, and racing promises to be of the best.

Mr. L. Rea is in charge of the totalisator with a competent staff, where 10s tickets outside and £.l and £5 tickets on the inside will be, sold. The catering will be in the capable uands of, Mr. Woolier, whilst the tea kiosk will be under the management of Mr. Findlay, of the Hygienic, lately of Gisborne, where lie has had wide experience. The booth will be under the management of Mr. E. Whittle, which is sufficient guarantee that the public Wifi be well catered for.

The train arrangements are. that excursion fares will be Issued from Hawera and intermediate stations to New Plymouth, whilst the usual 4.20 p.m. train will be delayed until 5.36 p.m., firing visitors ample time to catch It after the last race which is timed to start at 4.15 p.m. The first race is set down to start at 11.3(1 a.rp. The Citizens' Band has been engaged to play and an appropriate programme has been arranged. The final details are nearly completed, and Caretaker Blewman has the course anti grounds looking a picture.

RE-HANDICAPS. The following horses have been rc-handl-capped for the meeting: Hunters* Fiat.—Sunray, 17lb penalty; weight now 12.9. Hunt Cup.—Onlpoto, 101 b penalty: weight now 11.10. Wnihi Handicap.—Sunray Tib penalty; weight Lepperton Hurdles.—-Silver Paul 101 b penalty; weight now 10.10. OWNERS AND TRAINERS. JOINING THE ASSOCIATION. There was a fair attendance at the Soldiers’ Club, Now Plymouth, last night, when a meeting was held to discuss the question of joining the North Island Owners’ and Trainers’ Association. Mr. A. J. Shearsby, of Palmerston North, the organiser, was present and outlined the aims and objects of the association, making it clear that it was not in the nature of a union, but was an association formed to obtain improved facilities for the carriage of racehorses on the railway, and generally to protect the interests of its members. At the conclusion he Was accorded a hearty vote of thanks, and all present, including a number of owners, handed in tiieir names as members of the association.
