WEDDING.

REID—VICKERS. The Midhirst Methodist Church was the scene of a pretty wedding on August 24, the contracting parties being Mr. George H. Reid, eldest surviving son of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Reid, of Croydon Road, Tariki, and Miss Mary Vickers, eldest daughter of Mr. Thomas Vickers, of Tuna. The bride was given away by her father, and wore a dainty cream dress •trimmed with insertion and pearls, also the Usual veil and orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of choice spring flowers. The bride was attended by Miss Jessie Vickers (sister) as bridesmaid, who also wore a cream dress and a black hat, and carried a bouquet of stocks and maiden hair fern. Miss Reba Vickers, the small step-sister of the bride, made a pretty little flower girl, wearing a blue frock, and carried a basket of flowers, prettily arranged by Mrs. Edmondson. Mr. T. Vickers, brother of the bride, was best man, and Mr. C. Reid, brother of the bridegroom, was groomsman. The Rev. Neale officiated, and Mr. Edmondson played the “Wedding March.”’ The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a gold bangle, and to the bridesmaid and flower girl a gold pendant and gold brooch, respectively. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a set'of.military hair-brushes. After the ceremony about eighty guests sat down to the wedding breakfast in the MiHhirst Town Hall, the usual toasts being honored. Later Mr. and Mrs. Reid left by motor on their honeymoon, en route to their future home in the Waikato. Many useful presents were received, including several cheques.
