Super cowgrass is in very keen demand for export., and rair grade quantities have buen shipped. This demand is being reflected in a firmer tone for tjeeandury quality for local use. A fair area of new pasture is being put. down throughout the province thus season, and inquiry is coming In from farmers. It is relieved the crop is shorter than was anticipated. TTo sale of super cvwgraas for export was at ITUs per cwt. (Is 6d dressed) good quality. Farmers* is worth from la Id uj Is per lb. Cocksfoot has also sbo*n an improvement, and prices have flnmed during tho past few days by about a penny per lb. Good quality .8 worth to fanners to 7«id. A good many calves were penned, farmers preferring to sell them qtute youna and dispose of all their milk otherwise. Heif?r calves sold at from 3a to 3Qs, and bull calves at 3s 6d. Pig* were, also In good number, and made 15s foe. small weaners, while slips made 245, and stores from 35s to 52s 6d. A sow due to shortly sold for £4 ss. Cocks and hens mad® from Is to 2s 7d, and ducks Is fid to 3s 3d. Small bags of seed potatoes sold up to 8s 4<L Shrubs, ' trees, etc., sold readily. Berberry plaits made 8d per bundle. Apples made 5s per case, onions 6s per bag.
