ALLEGED FRAUD.
AN AUCKLAND CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Charges of obtaining £5OO by false pretences with intent to defraud and of Mealing three sums of £5O and £9 19s 7d were denied at the Police Court today by Henry Patrick Moor. The evidence showed that accused offered a man a third partnership in a wood and cqal business for £5OO, the representations regarding the firm’s position being allegedly incorrect. Accused also engaged (according to the evidence) four men as employees, obtaining from three of them £5O and from one £2O as fidelity bonds. Only the last-men-tioned man received any money ( £10) on his services being dispensed with. Accused wae committed for trial.
