WEDDINGS.

JEFFREY—-LICHTWARK. The marriage took place at St. Joseph’s Church, Eltham, on August 16, the Rev. Father N. Moore officiating, of Miss Doris Mary Lichtwark, eldest daughter of Mrs. T. Lichtwark and the late Mr. T. Lichtwark, of Rawhitiroa, to Mr. William Edward Jeffrey eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Jeffrey, of Waihi. The bride, who was given away by her uncle,. Mr. T. Waite, wore a dainty frock of white crepe de chine, with the usual veil and orange blossom, and carried a shower bouquet of spring flowers. She was attended by her sister, Miss Clarice Lichtwark, who was dressed in pale pink crepe de chine relieved with georgette and black tulle hat. Mr. William Scanlon was best man. The breakfast was served at Mrs. Riley’s Tea Rooms. Later in the afternoon the happy young couple Ieft for their future home in Waihi, the bride wearing a dark grey costume, with a grey fur (the gift of the bridegroom), and a fawn hat.—Star.

PARKES—NORCROSS. A wedding which united two families well known in Opunake, took place on Wednesday, at the local Methodist Church, when Hector William, only son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Parkes, of Hawera, and formerly of Opunake, was married by the Rev. E. S. Harkness to Miss Milly Norcross, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Norcross, of Opunake, and one time of Preston, England. The bride, who was given away by her father wore a charming gown of white satin with an overdress of beautifully embroidered net lace, and the customary veil. She carried a bouquet of clematis with white streamers. The bridesmaid was Miss Mabel Gardiner, cousin of the bride, who was becomingly attired in heliotrope charmeuse with black picture hat. Little Mavis Lyttle attended as flower girl and was daintily attired. Mr. A. Barker was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, when toasts appropriate to the occasion were honored. Later the newly married couple left by car for the South where the honeymoon is to be spent.—Times.
