Fine quailties were firmer and prices were unchanged. LONDON MARKETS. QUOTATIONS FOR MEAT. Received August 28, 5.5 p.m. London, August 27. Cotton.—Liverpool quotation, American middling upland, September delivery, lOd a pound. Rubber.—Fine hard Para 12% d a pound; plantation, first latex crops, B%d; smoked ribbed sh eet 8% d.
Jute.—Old crop, August-September shipment, £2B 5s & ton. New Zealand Hemp.—August-October ship*ment, £3B a ton. Copra.—South Sea bagged, September shipment, £32 IQs a ton. Linseed Oik—£3B a ton, equal to 3a o%d a gallon.
Turpentine.--€3s 6d a cwt., equal to 4s 5%d a gallon. Mutton—Canterbury heavy 6%d, Southland 7%d, North Island 7%d and Bd, New Zealand ewes 5%d; South American ewes 5 3-8 d; Patagonian ewes sfcd. Lamb.—Canterbury 13 l-8d and 13d, South-
