Mr. W. M. Hughes spent only a few hours in Paris. He conferred with M. Dior (Minister of Commerce) regarding trade relations. The French are puzzled Concerning the new tariff, and M. Dior lequested consideration of a reciprocal trrangement. Mr. Hughes also had a long conference with the French Colonial Office regarding the New Hebrides. He imphasised the Australian views and npreased the opinion that they would >e a considerable improvement in the nanagement of the island.—Aus.-N.Z. Sable Assn.
