MISCELLANEOUS. ANOTHER F.I.A.T. VICTORY. rpHE twelfth Annual Targo-Florio Motor Car road race, the classic Sicilian event, over a 270 miles course, one of the most difficult teste in the world, has just been won by a 6-cylinder “F.1.A.T.,” driven by an amateur driver, Masetti. The race comprised four laps of the Island, and it is estimated that 6000 acute turns had to be negotiated. Yet the average time for the winning “F.1.A.T.” was 36 miles per hour, with a total driving time of 7 hours 5 minutes 5 seconds. A German “Mercedes” was second and another “F.1.A.T.” tliird, and out of 24 starters only 14 finished, and both were of a much emaller piston displacement than the “Mercedes.” In the 2000 c.c. class, “F.1.A.T.” standard 10-1 G h.p. cars were both first ami second, with an average speed of 33 miles per hour. These races are some of the mast difficult in the world, and afford a wonderful test of a ear’s general reliability and soundness. This year’s results again prove the supreme quality of “F.1.A.T.” cars, than which none better is made in any country.
