NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. . MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIPS. The first rounds of the New Plymouth" Club's men’s championships (senior and junior) were piayed on Saturday, the matches resulting;— Sftnlors.—D. H. Butcker beat It. T. McQuade, 6 and 5; A. Bewley beat G. Grey, 6 and 4; J. Simpson beat V. Elliott, 2 up; Johnson beat W. H. Robertshaw, 2 and 1; T. V. Mackay beat A. S. Hasell, 1 up; W. C. Weston beat W. Meldrum, 2 up. Matches yet to be played are: Austin v. Murphy, and F. S. Johns v. G. Chong. Juniors.—Thomson beat Avery, 2 up; Robson beat Thornton, 7 and 5; R. H. Qullliaim beat Chrlstoffel, 1 up; Bayly beat Crapper, 3 and 2; Monteath beat S. Burgess, 1 up; Dalgleish beat Biennerhaaett, 2 up; Hutchings beat Osborne, 1 up at the 19th; Stevencon won from Wilson by default. The second rounds will ba played next Saturday. LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP. THE FINAL TO-MORROW. The semi-finals of the Now Plymouth Club’T ladies’ championship have been completed, and the final will be played to-morrow. In tha semi-finals Mrs. Johns beat Miss Rundle 1 up at the 20th hole, and Miss Brewster beat Miss Rollo 9 and 8. Mrs. Johns and Miss Brewster meet in the final. KIRKWOOD IN AMERICA.
