SESSIONS AT NEW PLYMOUTH.

CONCLUDING BUSINESS.

The Supreme Court sessions at New Plymouth, which have been in progress since the 16tli inst., were concluded yesterday, when a number of minor cases were cleared up. The action instituted by Lewis Henry Prestidge, of Hawera (Mr. O’Dea), claiming compensation from John A. White, of Manaia, for alleged breach of agreement and £5OO rcneral damages, was settled by consent, defendant, agreeing to pay £4OO of the claim, and no order for costs was sought

Possession of land, use and occupation. £204 per annum, and £4OO <lamages for lose of profits, was claimed by* J. G. Johnston from J. R. Corrigan and Alex. Corrigan. Mr. Spratt announced that an arrangement had been made whereby the case was to stand down till next session for hearing, plaintiffs to be given possession of the property in the meantime.

On the petition of Hector J. O’Halloran (Dannevirke), Frank A. Loft (of parts unknown) was adjudged a bankrupt, Mr. C. H. Weston appeared for the petitioning creditor.

Adjournments were granted in the following coses:—Frank Johnson v. Arthur W. Johnson, Fanny Johnson v. Ernest A. Johnson, and Fanny Johnson v. Ada Stimpson, claim that accounts he taken. A petition was made by O. Johnson for a dissolution of his marriage with Annie E. Johnson. His Honor reserved decision.
