SYDNEY WOOL SALES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, August 22. At the wool sales there was a good demand for all lines, and late rates were well maintained. LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd. (Hawera branch) report as follows; — At Kakaramea on the 15tb Instant the yarding sold at full market rates. We quote:— Lino of Lincoln Romneys 4 and 5-year ewes with' b.f. lambs 19s 6d, hoggets m.s. 12s 4d to 12s 9d, fat and forward cows £2 IDs to £5, stores 20s to 30s, yearling heifers (Jersey) £5, springing heifers £8 10s to £ll 10s, better quality ditto to £l6. At Elthaim on the 17th instant we had a medium yarding of sheep and mixed cattle. We' quote: Fat lambs 15s, store pigs to 46s 6d, small ditto 29s to 345, empty 2-year heifers £.5 9s to £6 10s, Jersey yearling heifers to £7 2s 6d, springing cows, best and close to profit £2O to £23 10s, backward and inferior ditto £8 5s to £lO, heifers ditto £8 10s. At Hawera on the 18th instant the yarding was a good one, principally dairy stock. Dairy cattle of good quality and close up sold at full market prices, but backward sorts were dull of sale. Most of the store cattle and sheep were disposed of before leaving tie yards at prices on a par with recent sales. We quote: Fat wethers 21s 3d, lambs 6s Sd to 7s sd, forward wethers 15s 7d, sows in pig £5 15s to £G 15s, porkers £3 6s to £3 10s, stores 35s to 395, small ditto 28s, fat and forward cows £3 Us to £5 12s, others at market value, 3-year steers to £4 18s, yearling heifers 21s to £3 4s, Jersey and Jersey cross ditto £4 10s to £6 ss, springing cows, beat £lB to £24, medium ditto £l3 to £l6 10s, old and inferior sorts £5 5s to £ll 10s, springing heifers good quality and close up £l5 10s to £2O 10s, others £ll 10s to £l3, inferior and backward sorts a» market value.

At Waverley on the 19th instant we had only a small entry. Prices at late rates.
