STRANDED ALPINISTS.
ATTEMPTS AT RESCUE FAIL. London. August 8. A message from the Times correspondent at Innsbruck, t'he capital of the Tyrol, states that a terrible adventure has 'happened to three local alpinists. They were lost for eix days and nights and were found without food, hanging on an apparently inaccessible incline of the Pramerarkar peak of the Tyrol. It is impossible to understand how they gained sircli a spot. Although efforts have been made to rescue the trio by parties who have been lowered over the face of the frozeu cliffs the rescuers have been quite unable to reach the men, who have now signalled that their strength is going, and that they cannot hold out much longer.
