HOCKEY.
NORDEN CUP CHALLENGE. TARANAKI v. WANGANUI. Taranaki have not been allowed to hold the Norden Cup very long without being carted upon to defend it, and they will meet Wanganui at Kaponga to-day. Tte Taranaki team will be practically the same as that which captured the cup from Feildlng, and it can ‘be relied upon to do its utmost to retain the coveted trophy. There should be a large attendance at Kaponga to-day to witness this match. 1 The teams will be as follow:—•
Taranaki.—Goal, T. Bennie (Kaponga) ; backs, T. Thoumine (Kaponga), and F. Primmer (Eltham) ; halves, F. Nicholls (Kaponga), L. Page (Eltham), and W. Foreman (Kaponga); forwards, 11. Frethcy (Eltham), M. Henricksen (Eltham), N. Priest (Kaponga), W. Bennie (Kaponga), and K. Pennington (Eltham). Emergency: R. Free (Elthaun). Wanganui.—Goal, Spurdie; full-backs, Bradley and Howatson; halves, Connell and Fraser; forwards, Webb, Simmonds, Hawkins, Blundell, Masters. Emergencies: Forwards,
Sinclair and Trigger; half, Higgins; full-back, Mincher.
NEW PLYMOUTH MATCHES. Technical College v. Red Rovers, 1.30 sharp. High School v. High School 0.G., 2.30. The team to represent Taranaki at the ladies’ tournament at Palmerston North early next cnonth will be chosen at Hawera to-day.
