CORRESPONDENCE.

SETTLER AND MOTORIST. (To the Editor.) Sir, Ro the letter in yesterday morning’s paper from ''Observer,” I would like to point out that. I did not write, the local in question. The blow der.lt to me by the settler did not knock me off my machine, but all the same it was not an accident, and was quite uncalled for. I presume ‘‘Observer” Is the other man who was in the buggy, and as he is an employee or relation of the settler his version' is naturally prejudiced/ But, his description of the encounter between myself and the settler is a deliberate fabrication. You l-ave only my word for it. as I unfortunately have no witnesses, but I give you my solemn word of honor that I did not raise my hands, nor was I struck by the settler after we reached the farm. I certainly told him a few truths, which, for the safety of other motor cyclists, I hope will take effect. I understand that the same settler threatened an assault on another well-known motor cycle rider, and was warned then that he had better be careful or ho would be prosecuted. Settler has my sympathy in regard to the accident caused by a motor to one of his family, but he should not judge us all alike, and certainly has no right- to assault anyone.—l am, etc., THE CYCLIST.
