The Washington correspondent of the New York Times says the State Department has been officially informed that M. Briand (Premier of France) will head the French delegation at the armament conference. Mr. C. E. Hughes (Secretary of State) has asked Congress to appropriate ' two hundred thousand dollars as the expense of the American delegation during the first two months. Paris reports that English will be the only official language at the conference are denied hero and it is announced that French will also be used.—-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
