FOUND DROWNED. x>y Telegraph —Press Association. Dannevirke, August 16. Catherine McLeod, aged 52 years, and single, residing at Matamau with her father, was found drowned in a stream close to the residence. She had been despondent lately, but it is not known how she got into the water. The body was clothed in night attire. AN UNEXPLAINED DEATH. Waimate, August 16. John Joseph Kane, a young man, died at Redcliff last night. It was reported that he had been drinking heavily. A post mortem examination was ordered.
