SOLDIERS’ DAIRY FACTORY.
OPENED BY MINISTER. By Telegraph —Press Assoclnllon. Dannevirke, August 16. The Hon. D. H, Guthrie performed the opening ceremony yesterday in connection with the co-operative dairy factory on the Tiratu soldiers’ settlement, near Dannevirke, the first co-operative soldiers' factory in the Dominion. The scheme was financed by the Repatriation Board, which granted a loan of £5OOO at the rate of £3OO per shareholder. The Minister and other speakers, to a large gathering of settlers and representatives of local bodies, prophesied a prosperous future for the settlement, the Minister urging efficiency as the chief tial for Dominion prosperity. He spoke® optimisitically of future prospects, despite the present temporary depression. Dairy products in future might not realise such high prices as during the war period, but the world demand was, such that payable prices were certain to be obtained
