CHARGES AT AUCKLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland. Last Night. At the Police Court to-day a Maori named Mat in a Taare admitted false pretences. Accused had £-8$ Is due from the Waikato-Maniapoto Maori Land Board, and when drawing it represented that he was also Eruera Taare (his brother), obtaining £22 5s Bd. He was committed for sentence. William Knox and Martin Gjerstad denied assault with intent to rob. The complainant, stated he .had been drinking with the accused, and when leaving a hotel in the evening he. was knocked down. The accused were committed for trial. Gjerstad was fined 10s for railing to notify bis change of address, he being an alien.
