It is officially stated that when 15 British, soldiers, on accompanied. by the French District Controller, were searching for hidden arms in the Hosenberg district, Silesia, they were attacked and fired on by 300 Germans. Under a threat of death the British surrendered the arm«s and the prisoners they had captured. Subsequently the German plenipotentiary in Upper Silesia called on the British Commissioner and apologised on behalf of the German Government for an unprovoked attack on troops engaged in executing their lawful duty.—Reuter.
