PLUNKET SOCIETY.

NEW PLYMOUTH BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Plunket Society was held in their rooms on Mon- | day lust. Present- Mesdamea W. C. Weston (in the chair), Shaw, Ambury. Home, Blackley, Millar. Wade, Nicholson, Cock, Hay, Valentine, Jenkin, Standish (acting secretary). Apologies were received from Mesdames Newton King and Russell. The nurse’s reports for the month of July were read as follows:- -Number of babies on list 153, new 19; visits paid to homes (old cases) 227, (now) 93; visits received at rooms: mothers 2-10, babies 172; advice to expectant mothers 5; letters received 2; telephone calls 15. A demonstration was given at the rooms during the month on how to make humanised milk. The Waitara report showed that 5 visits were- paid and 6 new babies were added to the list. The reports of the finance, car'and house committees were read and passed. A hearty vote of thanks was passed, to Messrs. Morey and Sons for a donaI tion of a parcel of material for the forthcoming baby day stall. A long discussion took place in connection with the arrangements for the Forthcoming baby day collection and mart day. Numerous promises of support were received. Subscriptions wore received as follows: Mrs. Standish (senr.) £l, Mrs. Greenwood (Urenui) £1 Is. Mrs. J. Scanlan £1 Is, Mrs. Logan £1 6s, Mrs. A. R. Standish £l, Mrs. A. Ambury 10s, Mrs. Valentine ss.
