In the matter of a proposed Rill or Act intituled “An Act to enable the Roman Catholic of Wellington to sell and dispose of certain Lands in the Archdiocese of Wellington, and to apply the Net Proceeds thereof in or towards the purchase of other Lands in* the Archdiocese and in or towards the erection of Churches and School Buildings thereon, and to authorise the raising of Money on the security of the Lands so acquired, or any of them.” VVHEREAS, in virtue of the provisions of “The Roman Catholic Lands Act, 1876,” as amended by “The Roman Catholic Lands Extension Act. 1899,” the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Wellington is a Corporation Sole in whom are vested all lands belonging to the Roman Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Wellington: And whereas there is in various parts of the said Archdiocese lands which by reason of altered circumstances are no longer suitable for the purpose for which they were originally acquired, Notice is hereby given that within Fourteen Days of the meeting of the General Assembly of New Zealand to be held next after the date of this Notice, a Petition will be presented to the said General Assembly praying and applying for leave io bring in a Private Bill to be called “The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Wellington Empowering Act, 1921.” The objects of the said Application and Bill are:— To enable the Archbishop to sell the Lands described in the Schedule thereto, or any of them, and to expend the proceeds thereof in the purchase of other land in the Archdiocese, and to erect Churches and School Buildings thereon, and to borrow money on the security of lands so acquired, or of any of them. A copy of the said Petition and Bill will be deposited in the Office of the Examiner of Standing Orders either before or within fourteen days of the commencement of the said session.
