The American Jewellers’ Association is offering a reward of £lOOO in the London newspapers for information leading to the conviction of diamond smugglers. It appears that Russian Bolsheviks are endeavoring to place in the world’s markets £7,000,000 worth- of looted diamonds and other jewels, crossing the border ria Reval. Millions’ worth have been disposed of in London, mostly smuggled frbm America with the greatest ingenuity, being concealed in walking sticks, boot heels, watches and picture frames, the smugglers even employing pet dogs, which are compelled to swallow the stones.—United Service.
