Awakino holds the shield, donated by Mr. Geo. MacMillan, having beaten Mahoonui, Tonga porutu, and the Maori teams. This handsome silver shield lias to be won three times consecutively, or five times alternately. A very successful smoke concert was held in the evening, when songs were contributed by Messrs. R. Parr, G. Thomas, and W. Hunt, and Mr. Jones (chairman), in his usual happy style, congratulated the victors on their wins, and the club generally on the very successful season. A very hearty vote of thanks is recorded by tte club to the people of Tongaporutu, who so royally entertained fhem when visiting there for the different matches. Mr. Lal Black, in last Saturday’s match, received rather a severe injury to his leg, but we are glad to see that he is now quite able to discard that "dot and carry one."
