MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
NEW- PLYMOUTH SITTING. A sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held at New Plymouth yesterday before Mr. A. M. Mowlem, S.M. TRUANCY CASES. Percy Jury, for failing to send his boy to the Technical night classes, was convicted and ordered to pay 7s Court costs. Cecil Clark, for failing to send Gladys Clark to day school, was convicted and fined 5s with costs 7s. BOROUGH BY-LAW CASES. For driving a gig without lights on the New Plymouth-Waitara road, a native named Apuki was fined 10s, with costs 17s 6d and translation fee ss. Fourteen days were allowed in which to pay the fine. Frank Farrell, charged with leaving a motor car standing unattended in Devon Street for a longer period than 10 minutes, was convicted and fined £1 with costs 7s. Harry Meyenbcrg, for driving an express in Tukapa Street without lights, was fined 10s with costs 7s. For riding a bicycle without lights in Tukapa Street Edmund Jury was fined 10s’with costs 7s. ; Stephen Roebuck, charged with driving a motor car in Liardet Street at an excessive speed, was convicted and fined £3 with costs 7s. MAINTENANCE CASE. Josephine Erlandson, of Spotswood, (Mr. Billing) applied for a maintenance order against her husband John Erlandson. For the plaintiff Mr. Billing said that the parties had been married 10 years, and had lived together until twelve months ago. when Erlandson left the ; home at Spotswood and went to live on •hi«? farm at Oka-to. He had paid plain- | tiff small sums during the last twelve ! months but had also borrowed about a similar amount from her. Mrs. Erlandsoif had been maintaining hersel 1 ’ and three children on a small farm at Spotsi wood and had now reached the end of jhgr resources. Worship said ho considered this was d case for domestic arrangement, but would make an order if desired. On the application of counsel an order was made requiring Erlandson to pay £2O, i for past maintenance, £2 per week from ■date and to allow plaintiff full use of the |SpouswoGd property and stock thereon.
