Parer was badly bruised, but until an X-ray examination is made it will not be known whether any bones are broken. Parer states that when he recovers and the machine is fitted with a new propeller he will make a fresh start. EX-PREMIER’S FUNERAL. Received August 4, 10.25 p.m. Brisbane, August 4. The route of the State funeral of the late Mr. T. J. Ryan was lined by scores of thousands of people, and it was probably the largest funeral witnessed in Brisbane. Requiem Mass was celebrated at the Cathedral, Archbishops Duhig and Mannix officiating. State Premiers and Ministers acted as pall-bearers. Received August 4, 8 p.m. Sydney, August 4. A memorial service to the late Mr. .Ryan held at the Town Hall was largely attended, including many members of the Federal and State Parliaments. Labor Parliamentarians delivered eloquent tributes to their late leader. Brisbane, August 4. Mr. Ryan’s body was brought from Rockhampton by special train, and crowds at all the stations paid a tribute. Thousands visited St. Stephen’s Cathedral, where the body was lying in state pending the funeral. REDUCTION OF WAG RS. Received August 4, 10.25 fWn. Sydney, August 4. In order to obviate the necessity for the dismissal of two ; hundred employees, the Lithgow small arms factory employees have decided to reduce the working hours to 36 weekly and receive i tart wagas.
