VESSEL SCUTTLED.

By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. Received August 4, 1.20 a.m. London, August 2. The Board of Trade inquiry into the sinking of the British steamer fepathari, off the Portuguese coast, on April 19, found that the chief engineer, Thomas Malley, wilfully scuttled the ship by opening the sea communications with the engineroom, and the master and officers did not try to ascertain the cause of the leak and prematurely abandoned the vessel. Malley’s certificate was cancelled and ihe master’s was suspended for three mouths.
