It is estimated that, since the launching of the Greek offensive, the Turks i have lost 30,000 men, of whom 9000 have •been taken prisoner, 9000 have deserted, and 12,000 have been killed or wounded. Despite official denials well-informed circles persist in stating that M- Gounaris will shortly visit Paris and London to defend Greek - claims in Asia Minor, even demanding the Greek occupation of Constantinople, which Greece regards as the only just solution of the Near East problem.
