Ryan, ex-Premier and Deputy-Leader of the Federal Opposition. He suffered a sudden attack of pneumonia while assisting in the Maranoa by-election campaign. Received August 1, 7.55 p.m. Sydney,-. August 1. Widespread regret is expressed by all political parties in all States at Mr. Ryan’s death. He is referred to as the strong man of the Labor Party.
