GISBORNE RACES. CONCLUDING DAY’S RESULTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne. July 30. •The Gisborne meeting concluded on Saturday in wet weather. The course was fairly good. The investments for the day were £17,912, an Increase of £3910 on the corresponding day of last year. The total for the meeting shows an increase of £BO2l over last year's figures. Results: GISBORNE HURDLES.—Marconi 1, Dribblrf 2, Signature 3. All started. Won by a head. Time, 3min 20s?c. MAIDEN HACK RACE.—Fife and Drum 1, Fort George 2, Miss Roseland 3. Scratched: Kalmoe, Our Navy. Won by a head. Time, Imin ssec.' WAIKANAE HANDICAP-Orawia 1, Multlfual 2, Esthonia 3. Scratched: Woden. Won by two lengths. Time, Imin 48 sec. TE HAP ARA STEEPLES.—Reparoa 1, .Tuan 3, Con 3. Scratched: Gay Boy. Silent Dick fell. Won by two lengths. Time, sm!n 45sec. SECOND HACK FLAT HANDICAP.—Monte 1. Bright Light 2, Ahura 3. The hearing of n charge of foul riding laid by MeFlinn against Berry on Thursday was continued 10-day. The stewards were satisfied that a deliberate breach of the rules had been committed by Berry, and he was suspended for three months. McFlinn was commended for reporting the matter, NORTH TARANAKI HUNT. POINT-TO-POINT MEETING. The North Taranaki Hunt Club held a point-to-point meeting for first and secondclass hunters on Mr. L. Birdling’s . property, Waitara, on Saturday. The meeting was favored with good weather, and there was a large attendance to witness the sport. Mr. L. A, Nolan acted as judge, Mr. J. Edwin as starter, and Mr. G. N. Skelton as clerk of the 'worse. The event for first-class hunters over a course of about two miles was won by Mr. L. Pepperell’s Tor Royal, Mr. E. Putt’s Glenaron taking second place. The race • for second-class hunters over a similar course was won by Mr. Skelton’s Lady Shimose, Mr. A. Woods’ Patronale being second. Hitherto the New Zealand Trotting Conference has only had one permanent stipendiary steward, Mr. T. H. Davey, and a number of deputies. It has now been decided to appoint another to a permanent position, and Mr. A. G. Mabee. of Auckland, who for some time has been acting as a deputy, has received the appointment. <
