The hearing of n charge of foul riding laid by MeFlinn against Berry on Thursday was continued 10-day. The stewards were satisfied that a deliberate breach of the rules had been committed by Berry, and he was suspended for three months. McFlinn was commended for reporting the matter, NORTH TARANAKI HUNT. POINT-TO-POINT MEETING. The North Taranaki Hunt Club held a point-to-point meeting for first and secondclass hunters on Mr. L. Birdling’s . property, Waitara, on Saturday. The meeting was favored with good weather, and there was a large attendance to witness the sport. Mr. L. A, Nolan acted as judge, Mr. J. Edwin as starter, and Mr. G. N. Skelton as clerk of the 'worse. The event for first-class hunters over a course of about two miles was won by Mr. L. Pepperell’s Tor Royal, Mr. E. Putt’s Glenaron taking second place. The race • for second-class hunters over a similar course was won by Mr. Skelton’s Lady Shimose, Mr. A. Woods’ Patronale being second. Hitherto the New Zealand Trotting Conference has only had one permanent stipendiary steward, Mr. T. H. Davey, and a number of deputies. It has now been decided to appoint another to a permanent position, and Mr. A. G. Mabee. of Auckland, who for some time has been acting as a deputy, has received the appointment. <
