DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS. RESULTS OF THE FINALS. By Telegraph.—Press Association, l Greymouth, July 30. The finals in the Dominion amateur boxing championships were decided to-night In tho presence of a large crowd, and an excellent all-round display of boxing fittingly concluded a very successful tournament. Auckland boxers annexed four championships' out of six.' A pleasing feature was when the visiting delegates mentioned the case of a family in dire poverty recorded in the Press, and the sum of £25 was collected from the delegates present. Results: — Bantams.—Purdy (Auckland) beat Drew (Dunedin) 8,0 after a splendid bout. Feather-weights.—Hatton (Auckland) heat Arbon (Greymouth) comfortably. Light-weights.—May (Auckland) 9.9, beat McFarlane (Greymouth) 9.8. Welter-weights.—O'Neill (Greyunouth) 10.7, beat Graj (Hastings) 10.7, having distinctly tiie better of a hard mill. Middle-weights.—Meale (Auckland) 11.1, beat Parker (Timaru) 11.1, after torrid rounds of in-fighting. Heavy-weights.—McLeary (Ashburton) 11.10 beat Whitaker (Westport) 12.1, after a good contest. A special bout, Maddocks (Hastings) 8.7 versus Armstrong (Christchurch) 8.7, for a trophy, was won by the former after a good contest. The Nash trophy for the most scientific boxer of the tournament was awarded to Purdy, who is only 15 years old, by the judges’ unanimous decision. •
