NEW AIR TORPEDO.

SECRET BRITISH MACHINE OF GREAT SPEED.

An engine of destruction which for its size will be far the most der.dly in the world is now being designed secretly for the British Government. This is an improved torpedo plane—a craft which ascends from a warship’s deck and has a torpedo slung below its hull. The new plane has more than twice the engine-power of any previous craft of its type, and is able to carry a torpedo capable of putting out of action at one blow the largest, battleship. In speed and in ability to manoeuvre when under fire the improved torpedo plane, it is claimed, will eclipse anything yet achieved.
