WRECKAGE SIGHTED.
DANGER TO NAVIGATION
DRIFTING TO NEW PLYMOUTH.
By Talseiiob.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Marine Department has received through the General Post Office the following message from the steamer Kewatiri: ‘"Sighted at 1 p.m. on July 29, in Lat. 39 deg. 30 min south, Long. 171 deg. 15 min. east, portion of a wharf (decking), consisting of three lengths horizontal and eight, vertical floating 6 feet above water, length about 40 feet; dangerous to navigation, please warn shipping.” Tho position of this wreckage at the present time is in the tnuck oi shipping from Australia passing through Cook Strait, and it bears from Cape Farewell 323 deg. 83 miles and from Cape Egmont 79 deg. 119 miles. It is < oueidered that the wreckage will eventually come ashore somewhere northwards of New Plymouth.
