Dr. Mary Scharlieb (a well-known London consulting surgeon), interviewed by the Daily Express regarding the million surplus of women in Britain, said two courses were opsn. First, girls wanting to marry must go to the Dominions, where the war toll w&3 lighter than here, and where men want wives. She would not send ill-equipped ’.'■’omen to the Dominions. They must regard marriage as a sacred business, making themselves as efficient for their work as they would in order to qualify for other careers, studying all branches of domestic economy.—Aus.-N.Z.
