MYSTERY SHIP’S EXPLOIT.
SINKING A SUBMARINE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received July 29, 5.5 p.m. London, July 28. The Prize Court awarded prize money for a mystery ship sinking a German submarine under plucky circumstances off Start Point in March, 1917. Captain Matheson, the commander, gave evidence that the submarine fired a torpedo and he adopted decoy tactics, whereupon the submarine came to the surface and openly attacked him. The mystery ship wa« holed in the engine room and became unsteerabi? Then Matheson opened fire end sank the submarine after a short engagement. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Aran.
