The motion and amendhsent were withdrawn iu favor of a mot on by Mr. Lysnar, M.P., that, in the opinion o£ the conference, the establishment of a Producers’ Shipping Company should be energetically proceeded, with and as soon as the Producers’ Committee can make their scheme public that a further conference of the Dominion Farmers’ Union be convened to consider the echeme. • The motion was carried.

The Acting'Premier was interviewed this afternoon regarding the declaration lof the Dominion Fanners’ Union conference that ibe establishment qf a producers’ shipping company should be energetically proceeded with, and it was suggested during the course of di;cuss’on that the company should be State-aided. The whole shipping position, including the question of State subvention, has been discussed by Cabinet (stated Sir Francis Bell), and is also being considered at Home by Mr. Massey. It was decided, however, that the whole matter should stand over till Mr. Massey’s return t»t the cud of September.
