RACING COMMISSION'S REPORT.
NAPIER FEELS SORE. By Taleeraob. —Press Association Napier, July 20. Public opinion is aroused in connection with the suggested cutting out of the Napier Park Racing Club. An in* dignation meeting is proposed. Mr. Vigor Brown, M.P., has wired. Mr. Downie Stewart asking if he had any legal authority to refuse to issue a permit to any club the commission reported against before Parliament considered the matter. The Minister has replied that he has legal authority to refuse to issue any permits. It is dear that licenses will not be issued to those clubs to whom the commission, recommends that no licensee shall be issued, unless Parliament rejects the report, in which case further consideration will be given. Otherwise, if Parliament acquiesces in the report, (here would not he sufficient days left for the remaining clubs, if some of the available days had been issued to clubi that are recommended to be cut out.
