INSPECTOB HUTTON TRANSFEBBED.
NEW OFFICER FOR TARANAKI. Inspector D. D. Hutton, of New Plymouth, who is in charge of the Taranaki police district, has received notification that he has been transferred to (JKsborne. His place will be filled by Inspector Murray, recently promoted at Dunedin. Inspector Hutton has been in New Plymouth for over three and a half years, during which time he hits gained the respect of the whole community. As sub-inspector he haxi charge of the Taranaki sub-division of the Wanganui district, and on Taranaki being made a separate district at the beginning of the year he was promoted, inspector in charge of this district. The following transfers and promo* J tions in the police force are announced in a telegram from Wellington:—* Sub-Inspector Willis is transferred from Wellington to Dunedin in place of Sub-Inspector Murray, who has been promoted to the rank of Inspector. The latter is transferred from Dunedin to New Plymouth, where he will take charge. Inspector Hutton, New Plymouth, uj transferred to Gisborne to replace liU spector Cassells, transferred to ChrifiL church to fill the vacancy caused by th'< promotion of Inspector Hendry to the rank of Superintendent in charge of th< Canterbury division. Senior-Sergeant Fitzpatrick is trans, ferred from Palmerston North to Gisi borne to replace Senior-Segt Quinn who goes to Rotoua. Constable S. J. Martin, of Auckland has been promoted to the rank of Ser geant and is transferred to Palmerstoi North to replace Senior-Sergt. Fit* patrick.
