INDENTURED LABOR TO STOP. NEW SETTLEMENT SCHEME. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright Received July 21, 8.45 p.m. London, July 20. Mr. Sastri, one of India’s delegates to the Imperial Conference, will visit Canada, Australia and New Zealand in the autumn unofficially. He then proceeds to Fiji to join another delegate nominated by the Indian Government and the two will act as a commission of inquiry into the treatment of Indians and their living and working conditions in Fiji. It is understood indentured labor will be abolished and the Fiji Government will be asked to allow such Indians as are willing to work in Fiji to bring their families and purchase land on the termination of their term of z service.— Aus.-N.Z.
