THE PRINCE OF WALES.
THE INDIAN TOUR. WARM WELCOME ASSURED. Delhi, July 15. Mr. Geoffrey de Montmorency, who has been appointed Chief Secretary to the Prince of Wales on his Indian tour, leaves for England immediately. Official circles believe that the Prince’s visit will be attended by consequences as favorable as those of the Prince’s other Dominion tours. The Press, with the exception of a couple of non-co-opera-tion organs, indicate that the Prince is assured of a warm welcome. The Viceroy has appointed an advisory committee to co-operate with the Political Department in supervising the arrangements for the visit. The Maharajah of Gwalior and Bikaner attended the first meeting at which the provisional programme was arranged. The Prince’s visit to Delhi in the middle of February will be marked by a number of imposing functions. Ghandi’s threatened boycott of the visit is not taken seriously by the Press.
