ELTHAM. . WEDNESDAY, JULY 20. SPECIAL ENTRY. (In conjunction with Newton King, Ltd.) ON ACCOUNT OF MR. T. H. JENKINS: 100 3-year in-calf heifers 25 dairy cows FOR SALE. GOODWOOD JERSEY FARM. TTAVING sold my Pedigree Jersey Herd, I prepared to sell the ‘•'Goodwood” Farm, comprising 202 acres. It is situated 4 miles from the Cambridge Post Office. Fencourt School is opposite the property, and the cheese factory is one mile away. Splendid metalled roads. The farm is a corner section, and, having two good road frontages, is naturally formed for subdivision into two or three, farms. Telephone is installed and house and shed are fitted with electric installation; current will be switched on soon. The dwelling is a large 7-roomed recentlybuilt one, with outbuildings, including wash-house with concrete floor. The shrubbery and drive are well laid out. Fourteen-bail cowshed with concrete floor and large concrete yard; L.K.G. milking machine installed. Large bam, implement shed, loose-box, and four stalls. First-class concrete calf-shed, with 25 bails and feeding arrangements. The land is all level, rich in alluvial loam (originally flax and white pine). All but a few’ acres have been ploughed. It is ideal pasture land, the pastures being full of clover; also it is natural lucerne country; grows splendid swedes and heavy crops of oats, barley, etc. There are three water bores; abundant pure water is always available. The property is well subdivided into about 25 paddocks, all fitted wi th good gates. About five acres beautiful standing bush, comprising chiefly about 1000 white pine trees. Gravel pit on property, containing thousands of yards of fine, clean gravel, perfect for concrete and loading (what joy to a Taranaki man!) There are about 7 acres of good swedes, .20 acres young grass (splendid take), 4 acres oats, and 7 acres lucerne; also about 20 tons hay. Th£ farm has a beautiful outlook and surrouhd'ings. Visitors to the sale praised it as much as they did the cattle. Several from Hawera remarked that if it were in Southern Taranaki it would readily sell for £l2O per acre, whereas I wilLsell at £B5. I have in one season milked 83 eows and carried also 15 rising two-year-old heifers, 40 calves, 6 horses, and 2 bulls. It is well appointed as a stud farm or as a first-class dairy farm. All pastures-are in excellent heart, and, at the price quoted, the farm is undoubtedly cheap. There is no better climate in New Zealand; one season there proves a revelation to a man who has spent a life in Taranaki. The district is studded with one- I time Taranaki farmers, who say they did not know what a. good climate was like until they went to' live there. The price is £B5 per adre. I will take £2500 cash or less from a good man with suitable Security to offer. Balance to be arranged. E. GRIFFITHS, Box 93, New Plymouth.
