Orders for papers may also be left with them. MODEL DAIRY FARM. July 17. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Stratford Model Dairy Farm was held on Tuesday, Messrs. J. W. Deem (chairman), J. B. Richards, S. Pitt and W. H. Were being present. The manager’s report on the working of the farm lor the month was read and adopted. The report showed that there was on the farm a total of 69 cattle, consisting of 53 cows, 7 twa-year-old heifers, S yearlings and 1 bull. There was also a total of 40 pigd. The balance sheet for the year ending June 30 was approved, subject to audit. The resignation of Mr. E. B. Robertson from the executive was accepted with regret. The fourth annual general meeting of the Farm .Society was fixed for Auguat 27. FAREWELL SOCIAL. A committee from the Stratford A. and P. Association and the Jersey Breeders’ Association are making the preliminary arrangements for a farewell social to Mr. A. Huggett, who has been a prominent and esteemed member of these societies fur a number of years. Mr. Huggett is shortly leaving the societies and the district. s STRATFORD DAIRY COMPANY. ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the Stratford Farmers’ Co-operative Association states that the quantity of whey butter made during the past season was 10 tons 14cwt 2qrs 291 b; total creameiy butter made, 429 tons 19cwt 3qrs 81b: total cheese made, 523 tpns Sewt Iqr 91b: the tota’l number of suppliers was 228. Owing to the delay in shipping. ». considerable quantity of cheese was unsold and in store when the books were closed for the year. This has been taken into account at what was considered a safe figure. The balances, as disclosed by the cheese working accounts, are consequently only an approximation, and the actual result of the year’s working will not be known until the cheese is all disposed of. The butter working account shows a surplus of £24,940 10s 7d. Further payments of 4d per lb butter-fat to those branches *whoJJy numufaeturing butter and 2d per lb to the cheese branches which clwnged to butter manufacture were made on July 20. Further payments will be made as the stock is realised. It (is expected that the average, pay-out for the season will amount to 2s 7d per lb. A considerable sum has been spent during the year in necessary repairs and renewals. The retiring directors are Messrs. J. C. Towes. L. E. Hann, and G. A. Harris, jun. Mr. Towes does not seek reelection. Mr. 3’. H. Penn again offers his servjces as auditor.
