The offerings at to-day’s wool sales—haJ B.A.W.R.A. and half free—met with a bettei sale all round. There was good Continent* competition, practically everything being sold Merinos slightly. Crossbreds wer* Arm and' unchanged. The following New Zea 4 land lots, were sold: Craig Lochart, top pried 16d, average 15d; Dagworth 31d and 27d. At the tallow sales 1274 casks were offetj ed, 1227 being sold under keen compstitiou} Fine mutton 38s cwt., medium 365, fine beei 43s 6d, medium 36s 6d, good mixed 355. | Mount Lyall shares.—Buyers 14s 3d, seiJi ers 14s 9d; Waihi Junction 9s 7d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house undet date 11th Instant:—There was a fair attendance at the opening of the sales to-day, competition by buyers being fairly active, au4 prices as compared with the close of prececli ing series ruled about 10 per cent, lower fa| crossbred wool and 7% per cent, to 10 pej cent, lower for merino. The opening catai logouts were fairly representative.
