BRITAIN’S SORE TRIAL. FEAT MOORS ON FIRE. HEAVY DAMAGE IN FRANCE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright Received July 15, 1.10 a.m. London, July 14. Though the weather is cooler, the drought continues, and grave conditions are prevailing in various parts of the country. There are many heath fires in the vicinity of London, and houses are being saved with difficulty in some cases. The peat moors near Rochdale are on fire to a depth of two feet, and. the town is full of smoke, hindering work. The Blackstone—Edgemoor Road, leading into Yorkshire, is impassable. Hundreds of sheep are being incinerated by the widespread fires on the Yorkshire moors. Paris reported one hundred, degrees in the shade in some places Forests and wheat fields are burning in certain districts. Two large factories were destroyed in Paris, the damage being .£200,000.’
