TROTTING CLUBS’ CONFERENCE. By Association Wellington, July 12. The annual conference of representatives of trotting clubs registered with the N>w Zealand Association cotnmonced this morning. Mr. Reeves, president, presiding river about 25 delegates. After the president's address a motion of regret was passed at the death of Messrs. Manvers, Burton, Edwards, C. S. Howell, and J. S. Wllliauns. A motion was passed congratulating Sir George Hunter on the honor of knighthood bestowed on him. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. There was considerable discussion on the question whether the president of the association ex officio should bn- entitled to a seat at the conference, and a remit from the New Brighton Clnb should be amended to exclude the president of the association from the powers and rights of a representative. The contention was that the. association was trying to fore® the rules on tto clubs against their will. The motion was lost on a show of hands.
Mr. Selig, on behalf of the association, moved the following additional clause to rule 33: "Should a clyb warn off its course any jierson considered undesirable, such club shall immediately notify- the association of the full name, address, and occupation of such person and the date ha was warned off, and therefrom tte association shall notify all registered clubs of such warning off."
