COMMUNISM DENOUNCED.
BRITISH LABOR’S REBUFF. A PRETENCE AND HYPOCRISY. London, June 22. The annual conference of the British Labor Party has delivered a direct rebuff to communists, for it has decided, by an overwhelming majority of 3,500,000 votes, to adhere to the decision not io admit the communist party unless it agrees to accept the constitution and rules of the Labor Party. The speeches of delegates were remarkable for their bitterness against the communists. • Mr. Herbert Smith declared they were not Wolves, and would not even make good sheep. They had urged the miners to come out on strike, but deserted them in their hour of need.
Mr. .Shinwell, an Independent Labor delegate from Glasgow, characterised communism as a mere pretence and mere hypocrisy, the essence of which was cast-iron discipline imposed from Moscow.
