WIRELESS STATIONS.

ENTERPRISE IN CHINA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.*—Copyright. Received July 11, 5.5 p.m. New York, July 8. Mr. Hughes (Secretary for State) has replied to the Chinese Minister's inquiry whether America contemplated withdrawing support fr"»m the Federal Telegraph Company, which contracted to erect wireless stations for Chinese Govermnent, in view of the protests by Britain, Japan, and Denmark. Mr. Hughes states that the Government has no intention of withdrawing its support, adding that communications from the above Governments tend to confirm the American Gcve-nmcnt’s belief that the claims urging the exclusion of the Federal Telegraph Company are founded on the assertions of monopolistic preferential rights in Chinese o-overnmental enterprise, which cannot be recognised under the treaty rights oi Americans in China'' or in view of the open door principle, which America continues to support whole-heartedly.
