THE EX-NUN’S CASE.
THE EVIDENCE CONCLUDED. COUNSEL ADDRESS JURY. By Talfi’rapix.—Press Assn. —Copyright, Receive! July il, 10,25 p.m. Sydney, July 11. The Ligouri case was continued today. Dr. Leahy gave evidence’that he was ■of opinion that Ligouri left the convent [because of delusion or fear. She was isuffering from chronic constipation, cf I which complaint delusions formed, an imi portant eymptom. I James Sheehy, a solicitor practicing *at Wagga, said he advised the bishop to bring the matter of TJgouri’s departure to Sydney, and see the Inspector -General of Police, as the latter would have more resources than the local police. This concluded the evidence, and counsel for the defence, before commencirg the address to the jury, asked the judge either to direct the jury to find for defendant or else to enter a verdict for defendant without reference to the jury, on the grounds of the application for a non-suit. The judge declined to decide the matter for himself, and decided to leave to the jury the questions already enumerated. Counsel for the defendant then entered upon his address to the jury.— l Aus.-N.Z, Cable Assn.
