CASE CONCERNING UNIONS By Telegraph.—Press Association Wellington, Last Night. Mr. Hunt, S.M., to-day gave his re< served decision in an important case, the Wellington Hotel Workers’ Union against Gilbert Wilby, a claim for the arrears of subscription, amounting tfl £2 13s, at the rat© of 6d a week. The point at issue was a union’s right t$ sue for a greater sum than twelve months’ arrears, the rules providing then for the striking off the roll of 4 defaulting member. Judgment was givei for twelve months’ arrears. I QUESTION OF ROAD POLICY. Wellington, Last Night* j The much debated proposals to reoon; struct the main Hutt road in concrete was discussed at a meeting of the Hut< Road Board. The question of raising money to pay the charges incidental t<j high-grade roads was also discussed. It was agreed that a conference of local bodies in and around Wellington should) be arranged to discuss the whole question of -oad policy.
